“I'm sure you've been asked this a hundred times (so forgive me for being repetitive), but what do you do when facing the horrible monster that is writer's block? How do you break its awful cycle?”
I don’t think writer’s block exists. There is just something in the brain that needs to come out via the fingertips and it’s the writer’s job to find it. Just keep writing, to try and find it. It’s there, but hidden and the reason it’s hidden is because it is important.
Steam of consciousness helps. Set an egg timer for five minutes and just write about everything that pops into your head. It doesn’t have to make sense or be coherent. Then, walk away for ten minutes, come back and read it to see what you find.
Then, write more :)
